An immediate denture is a complete or partial denture that is made in advance of your tooth extractions and inserted into your mouth on the same day the teeth are removed. Rather than waiting the 6–8 weeks that a conventional post-extraction denture requires, you leave the procedure with a full smile already in place.
The process begins at Prestige Dentures well before your extraction date. We take impressions, shade match your remaining teeth, and fabricate the denture in advance. On extraction day, your dental surgeon removes the teeth and we fit the immediate denture over the healing gums — protecting the extraction sites and maintaining your appearance throughout the healing period.
Important to know. Because immediate dentures are made before extractions, they are fitted over swollen gum tissue and will likely need relining or replacing once healing is complete (usually after 3–6 months). We'll plan for this from the start.
Immediate vs conventional dentures — what's the difference?
A conventional denture is made after extraction sites have fully healed (6–8 weeks), providing a precise fit from the start. An immediate denture is made before extractions and inserted on the day of the procedure — meaning you're never without a smile, but the fit will change as healing progresses. Extraction day
Your dental surgeon extracts the planned teeth. Immediately after, the immediate denture is placed over the healing gum tissue. You leave the procedure with a full smile.

Follow-up & final reline
As your gums heal and shrink over 3–6 months, you'll need adjustments and follow-up appointments. A final reline or replacement denture is made once healing is complete.
